I can't believe that the Network can ONLY find one African American player.

The show start off with 39 players auditioned in Los Angeles going thru 3 Challenges:  1.  Make a perfect square using a milter, 2. hosting a show with mock living room, & finally 3.  Audition in front of the 3 judges.

- Cynthia is a weak judge.  She too emotional.  She want to approve everyone even thought some of them are terrible.

NOW:  The head of programming & the 3 judges must make the cut down to 9.

NOW:  the show begins.  The designers are driven to a park to empty lot - where they think they have to BUILD their own house.  Then Clive arrived on the lake on a platoon boat  stating their first challenge.

CHALLENGE:  Build Where You Live.  - Everything you need.  7 Days & Budge $100,00.

EPISODE #2:  Home Sweet Lake Home.                                     Still 9 Left.

Start Off:  Still at the Lake at building site.  The designers planning on how to build this house.  After 3 hours Clive come back & told them it was a joke.  He take them to the real house across the lake.

REAL DESIGN YOUR LIVING SPACE:  Design your living space with $15,000 budget in 31 work hours .  DAY 1:

- LIVING ROOM:  D.Paul, Michael, Tracee, & Trish,

- SUNROOM:  Trish, D.Paul,  & Tracee,

- DINING ROOM:  Jennifer & Stephanie,

- UPSTAIR BEDROOM:  Scottie,

- DOWN BEDROOM:  Matt & Mikey V.

DAY 2:  more work.

DAY 3:  12 Hour left.

THEN HEAD TO THE STUDIO:  Elimination

- TOP 3:  Trish, Matt & Michael.

SAFE:  D.Paul & Mikey V.

BOTTOM:  Scottie, Jennifer, Tracee & Stephanie.

ELIMINATED:  Scottie.

EPISODE #3:  Making Design History.                                                           8 Left.

START OFF:  Clive is outside the designer's house before they woke up.  He is setting up a yard sale for them.  Then he wakes them up & told them to come outside.   Select One item for their next challenge.

ARRIVED AT:  Oaklawn Mansion, a Southern haunted mansion.

CHALLENGE:  Yard Sale Make History.  Updated the living room 26 work hours $5,000 budget.  Must add your garage item.  Working in partners.

DAY 1:  Challenge begins.

- A Frame from Living Room 1 fall off the wall.

- D.Paul thought he put out his paint tray but it was put back in the room.

DAY 2:  10 hours left.

- Extension Cord missing from D.Paul's room.

DAY 3:  8 hours left.

- Tracee is being a cry baby.  People are not trusting her.

BACK TO THE STUDIO (Elimination)

- While viewing Living Room #4 a picture fall off the wall.

TOP 2:  Mikey V., Stephanie and Matt & Michael.  SAFE

BOTTOM:  Tracee & D.Paul

ELIMINATED:  D.Paul.

EPISODE #4:  Flying Solo.                                                                            7 Left.

START OFF:  In the Designer's house in the morning.  Where one of the designer find a note:  Hello Designers.  Great design can be found all around the world and the next Design Star should be familiar with what's out there.  Pack a small bag and meet at the airport.  Best, Clive.  P.S. Don't forget your passport.

NEXT DAY:  Arrived At:  Portland Municipal Airport.  Where the find 7 Paint Cans in front of a private plane.  Then Clive get off the plane.

CHALLENGE:  Individual Rooms.  12 continuous work hours, $500. to shop at Michael Arts & Craft in 1 hour, 2 gal. paint.  

- They think they are going to another country BUT no they 7 white rooms in the hangar.& the paint can will determine what country they have to decorate.

- Stephanie & Trish get Mexico,

- Jennifer & Tracee get Italy,

- Mikey & Matt get Thailand,

- Michael get a Blank can which he can pick any country - Spain.

- Tracee thinks everyone like her & she is a good designer which she isn't.  Michael like to talk about people.  He is TRUE baby.  He need to grown -up.

NEXT DAY:  Studio Room.

- SAFE:  Mike & Trish.

- BEST:  Jennifer & Stephanie.

- BOTTOM:  Tracee, Michael, & Matt.

- Martha, one of the judges had a talk with them.  Thought their ego got the better of them.

ELIMINATED:  Michael  - he was crying & asking for his Mommie.  

EPISODE #5:  Celebrity Suites.                                                               6 Left.

START OFF:  At the Designer's House - waking up, Then Clive arrive & told them to join him in the workroom and pick a paint can to determine whom will be the captains.

TRISH:  Mikey & Tracee                      and                    JENNIFER:  Matt & Stephanie.

CHALLENGE:  Celebrity Suites:  Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  28 work hours, & $15,000, Inspired by Sara Evans.

DAY 1:  Begin Work.

DAY 2:  continue working,

DAY 3:  End of working.

STUDIO ( Elimination)

- Team Trish is SAFE,

- Team Jennifer - Matt is Safe.

- BOTTOM - Jennifer & Stephanie.

ELIMINATED:  Stephanie - couldn't tell judges what she did & mess-up on the sofas.

EPISODE #6:  Heating Up the Kitchen.                                                      5 Left.

START OFF:  Waking up.  Trish's ring finger is swollen.  Ring does not come off.  Then Clive arrived.

CHALLENGE:  Dreaded Kitchen.  Kitchen Challenge:  24 hours work, $10,000 budget, with a gift card for  Sear for appliances.  Paint Can determine leader:  Tracee.

                            DOUBLE ELIMINATION

DAY 1:  Start Work.  No-One wanted to listen or follow Tracee's order & she couldn't make a decision.  Trish called 91 for her finger & took everyone's attention.

DAY 2:  12 hour left.  Tracee went shopping & took all day & no time for the back splash.

DAY 3:  2 hour left.  Did finish the work but no back splash.  Carter Oosterhouse came order to give the team a prep talk.

ELIMINATION ROOM:  STUDIO

- First time finishing a kitchen but the judges DID NOT like it.  Thought it was boring.  Even the family waned a back splash.

SAFE:  Jennifer & Trish.

ELIMINATED:  Tracee - No leadership & took too long to shop.                       4 Left.

BOTTOM:  Matt & Mikey V.

ELIMINATED:  Mikey V. - look angry on camera.                                               3 Left.

EPISODE #7:  Hometown Design.                                                                        3 Left.

START OFF:  In the Designer's House - Waking up.

                FINAL THREE:  Matt, Jennifer & Trish.

- Then Clive came in with the paint cans which had their budget money in it.  The designers will know their destination BUT not the rooms they are designing.

CHALLLENGE:  Designing for a Family.  26 work hours, $10,000 budget, assistance of a carpenter,

- Jennifer's Client:  her sister, Leigh, in Sioux City, IA doing her great room,

- Trish's client is her parents in Macomb, Michigan doing Living & Dining Rooms,

- Matt's Clients is his parent in Colorado Springs, CO doing their basement.

DAY 1:  Start the Work.  Clive arrive in Michigan surprising Trish.

DAY 2:  12 hour left to work.  Clive arrive to visit Jennifer.

DAY 3:  Clive arrive to visit Matt.  Time Up

BACK AT THE STUDIO:  Elimination

ELIMINATED:  Trish.

                        FINAL TWO:  Jennifer vs. Matt.

EPISODE #8:  Giving Back.                                                                                     2 Left.

START OFF:  Designer's House -with two left in the kitchen then Clive arrive telling about the last challenge.

FINAL CHALLENGE:  Designing 2 families' home whom house was destroyed by hurricane Katrina. in 2005.  36 work hours, $20,000 budget, Appliances from Sears, Lumber  Liquidators for flooring & a carpenter.

ARRIVED IN:  New Orleans, LA.

DAY 1:  Meeting their Clients.  & Start Working.

- Jennifer:  The Gowland's Family  and      Matt:  Olegas Family.     

DAY 2:  Extra Help from previous players:  Mikey & Trish. for 12 hours.  Will switch helpers on next day.  Matt choose Trish first.

DAY 3:  Switch helpers.

DAY 4:  LAST DAY.  4 hours left.  No helpers.  Work on their own.  Judges preview their houses.

    NOW AMERICA VOTE!

EPISODE #9:  America Decides!                                                           2 Left.

    START OFF:  As Memory Lane with Questions & Answers.

THEN:  Michael Dingley, SVP of Programming came out with envelope.
